I had the pleasure of attending the Defence Maritime Logistics School (DMLS) HMS RALEIGH Award Ceremony on Thursday 12 July and presenting the Writer of the Year trophy to Logistician (Writer) Rebecca Young now serving at RNAS Culdrose.

Grand National 2018 – Results
Ticket No. 1892, the 62nd ticket to be drawn out of the 73 declared runners as at Sunday 8th April proved to be lucky for winning owner JOHN MILLER of Greenhythe, whose selected horse “TIGER ROLL” (co-joint favourite at 8/1) won the race winning John £200.00.
131st Annual Reunion Dinner
This years annual reunion dinner will be held on Friday 12 October at the The Royal Beach Hotel, St Helen’s Parade, Southsea.
At time of going to print the Guest(s) of Honour is to be confirmed by April 2018 and the RNWA are hopeful that it will be the newly appointed Second Sea Lord.

Current members of the Royal Navy at the Defence Maritime Logistics School (DMLS) at HMS RALEIGH, the RNWA and ‘Old Scribes’ came together to commemorate a presentation of “The History of the Writer Branch” given by the Writer Trainees on the occasion of the 150 Anniversary of the Foundation of the Branch.

This is a transcript of the Journal of Petty Officer (Writer) Albert Symonds who was serving in the Town Class Light Cruiser HMS Southampton. (Sister ship of HMS Lowestoft which was in 1916 with the Mediterranean Fleet in the 8th L.C.S.)
